Detailed Itinerary, 13 Days

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet with the driver and transfer to the lodge, a journey of approximately 40 minutes. Check-in and take some time to relax after your international flight. Enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge before settling in for the night.

Set on a former coffee plantation surrounded by lush gardens, the lodge offers a serene retreat with stunning views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. The property features an inviting lounge, a spacious terrace, and 31 chalets, junior suites, and family rooms spread across a tropical estate. Guests can unwind by the beautifully landscaped swimming pool or relax in the main area, which includes a cozy lobby with a fireplace, a bar, a garden terrace, and a large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. 

Night 1: Overnight near Arusha

After breakfast, embark on a peaceful 1.5-hour canoeing experience on a small Crater Lake, gliding across its smooth surface while spotting rare birdlife such as Giant Kingfisher, Fish Eagle, and Darters. Surrounded by forested crater walls, this quiet experience offers a glimpse of hundreds of cattle egrets returning to roost on an island in the lake.

Enjoy lunch at Blue Heron before heading to Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-hour drive on a well-paved road. Upon arrival, begin a morning game drive through the park’s breathtaking landscapes, where ancient baobab trees stand tall and large herds of elephants roam freely—it’s possible to see over a thousand in a single day. A picnic lunch will be served within the park, followed by an afternoon safari, where the golden light enhances wildlife sightings and the beauty of the terrain.

In the late afternoon, arrive at Maweninga Camp and settle in just in time for a spectacular sunset from the rock terrace, with panoramic views stretching across Lake Burunge, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro Crater. End the day with a delightful dinner before resting overnight in the heart of the wilderness.

Continue the journey towards Tarangire National Park, with a two-hour drive on a well-paved road leading to the park entrance. The morning game drive showcases stunning scenery dominated by iconic baobab trees and a remarkable concentration of elephants, where it is possible to observe over a thousand in a single day.

Night 2: Overnight inside Tarangire National Park

Spend the entire day exploring the wildlife and landscapes of Tarangire National Park on a full-day safari. Encounter large elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and diverse wildlife in one of Tanzania’s most picturesque parks.

Enjoy lunch at with a stunning view. Before continuing the safari in the afternoon. Arrive at The Luxury Tented Camp around 5:30 PM to enjoy a sundowner, dinner and a bonfire under the vast skies.

Night 3: Overnight inside Tarangire National Park

Begin the morning with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, taking in the park’s stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. Enjoy lunch at Tarangire Safari Lodge before exiting the park through the North Gate.

Ascend the Rift Valley with a scenic drive, taking approximately 45 minutes on a paved road before arriving at the Lodge around 5:30 PM. Gather for a sundowner and dinner.

Night 4: Overnight near the entrance of Ngorongoro Crater

The day is dedicated to exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Depart from the lodge and reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area within 15 minutes, followed by a 45-minute descent into the crater along a steep and scenic road offering breathtaking views of the lush landscape.

At the crater floor, the first wildlife encounters begin with buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and gazelles. The safari unfolds across the 300 km² basin, with excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five—lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, and leopards.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near a small lake before continuing the safari in the afternoon. The diverse ecosystem of the crater includes forests, open plains, and swamps, offering a variety of wildlife in stunning surroundings.

In the late afternoon, ascend the crater and continue toward camp. Upon arrival, attend a briefing and tent allocation before setting out on a one-hour walk to the summit of the “Kopjes,” where you can take in a spectacular sunset over the Serengeti plains.

Arrive to camp at night for dinner and an overnight stay, a luxury tented camp with stunning views of the Serengeti plains.

Night 5: Overnight Olduvai Region

Travel north through the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, where endless golden grasslands stretch as far as the eye can see. Along the way, take in the raw beauty of this iconic landscape, home to an incredible diversity of wildlife.

A picnic lunch will be provided in the heart of the park, offering a chance to relax amidst nature before continuing the adventure. In the afternoon, the game drive explores the central Serengeti, following the rivers of Seronera and Banagi—prime territories for spotting big cats. This region is known for its high concentration of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, offering exceptional wildlife sightings.

As the day winds down, journey toward the Grumeti zone, where the wilderness remains untouched and teeming with life. Arrive at Grumeti Hills in the evening, just in time to unwind and enjoy a well-prepared dinner before settling in for the nightTravel north through the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, immersing yourself in its endless landscapes and abundant wildlife. Along the way, enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park.

As the day winds down, head toward the Grumeti Hills for the evening.

Night 6: Overnight Grumeti Region

Start the day with an early departure for a guided walking safari, an opportunity to explore the landscape on foot and discover the local fauna up close. After a two- to three-hour hike, enjoy a bush breakfast in the heart of the wilderness.

Return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest. Spend the late morning unwinding by the swimming pool or indulging in the lodge’s spa facilities. Lunch will be served at the lodge, followed by leisure time in the afternoon.

For those interested, a cultural excursion can be arranged to visit Mugumu, Ikomacastle—historically significant during the 1914-1918 war—or a game drive in the surrounding area.

Enjoy an early dinner at the lodge before setting out on an exciting night safari from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM. This unique experience offers sightings of nocturnal species such as galagos, genets, and civets, while other animals, including hyenas, leopards, and elephants, exhibit different behaviors under the cover of darkness.

Night 7: Overnight Grumeti Region

Begin the morning with a last game drive in the Grumeti Zone, taking in the untamed beauty of this remote wilderness. As the sun rises over the savanna, witness wildlife stirring in the cool morning air, with opportunities to spot predators on the move and grazing herds scattered across the plains.

Continue the journey toward central Serengeti for another thrilling game drive, where the diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife promise incredible sightings. A picnic lunch will be served in the heart of the park before the afternoon game drive resumes, allowing for more exploration of the Serengeti’s endless terrain.

By late afternoon, arrive at Togoro Plains and take time to explore the camp, surrounded by the serenity of the wild. Enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner before settling in for the night, immersed in the sights and sounds of the African bush.

Night 8: Overnight Serengeti

Set out for another incredible game drive through the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, where the sweeping savanna is alive with wildlife. As the sun casts golden hues over the landscape, witness herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes roaming freely, while predators lurk in the distance, blending into the terrain.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the heart of the park, offering a moment to take in the breathtaking surroundings before the afternoon game drive continues. Exploring the rivers of the central Serengeti, particularly the Seronera and Banagi areas, presents opportunities to encounter a high concentration of big cats, as well as other remarkable wildlife drawn to the water sources.

As the day comes to an end, return to Togoro Plains for a well-earned dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Serengeti.

Night 9: Overnight Serengeti

After breakfast, transfer to Seronera Airstrip and board a scheduled flight to Zanzibar, leaving behind the vast plains of the Serengeti for the pristine beaches of the Indian Ocean. Upon arrival, feel the shift from safari adventure to island tranquility as the warm coastal breeze welcomes you to this tropical paradise.

Settle into your beachfront accommodations, where the turquoise waters and soft white sands create the perfect backdrop for relaxation. Enjoy a leisurely evening with a delicious dinner before unwinding for the night, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the ocean.

Overnight Zanzibar

Wake up to the gentle sound of waves and the salty ocean breeze. Today is all about embracing Zanzibar at your own pace—whether that means unwinding on the pristine white-sand beaches, taking a dip in the turquoise waters, or indulging in a spa treatment with views of the Indian Ocean. For those seeking adventure, options abound. Explore the vibrant coral reefs on a snorkeling or diving excursion, visit a local spice farm to learn about Zanzibar’s rich history, or set sail on a traditional dhow for a sunset cruise, gliding across the shimmering waters as the sky transforms into hues of orange and pink. Enjoy a fresh seafood dinner and a peaceful overnight stay at Breezes, immersed in island tranquility.

Overnight at Zanzibar

Another day in paradise awaits, and how you spend it is entirely up to you. Relax on the beach with a book, sip on fresh coconut water, or take a leisurely walk along the shoreline. If you’re in the mood for more exploration, consider a visit to Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site brimming with history, culture, and winding alleyways filled with vibrant markets and ancient architecture. Alternatively, embark on a boat trip to Mnemba Atoll for world-class snorkeling, or paddle through the mangroves on a kayaking adventure. As the sun begins to set, embrace the island’s rhythm with a beachfront dinner, letting the sound of the waves set the perfect ambiance for another unforgettable night in Zanzibar.

Night 12: Overnight at Zanzibar

Enjoy a final breakfast by the ocean, savoring the last moments of Zanzibar’s tropical serenity. Whether it’s a quiet morning walk on the beach or a refreshing swim, take in the beauty of the island before departing.

After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) for your flight home, bringing with you unforgettable memories of thrilling safaris, breathtaking landscapes, and the tranquil shores of the Indian Ocean.

Option to add July 26th in Zanzibar, and fly home on July 27th.

We understand that plans can change, and while we would love to offer free cancellation, due to the limited availability of spaces and the special group rates secured for this event, we are only able to offer a refund if we can fill your spot or if you can find a replacement to take your spot.

If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. We will make every effort to fill your space from our waitlist. Should we successfully find a replacement for your booking, a full refund will be issued. However, if we are unable to fill your spot, no refund will be provided.
