Day 1: Arrivals Quito

Welcome to Quito, Ecuador, the starting point of our incredible Galápagos adventure!

Please plan to arrive in Quito by late afternoon. Upon arrival, you’ll transfer to our hotel, check in, and have some time to settle in after your travels.

This evening, we’ll gather for our first dinner together, meet our fellow travelers, and go over everything you need to know for the adventure ahead.

Tomorrow morning, we’ll travel together to the Galápagos Islands, where our island-hopping adventure officially begins!

Day 2: Transfer to Galapagos

Welcome to the Galápagos Islands!

Upon arrival at Baltra Airport, you’ll be met by our local team and begin your journey to Santa Cruz Island.

Our first adventure takes us into the lush Santa Cruz Highlands, where we’ll have the incredible opportunity to see the famous Galápagos giant tortoises roaming freely in their natural habitat.

We’ll enjoy lunch in the highlands before continuing to our hotel to check in, settle in, and relax after our travels.

This evening, we’ll come together for a special Welcome Dinner, the perfect way to kick off our Galápagos adventure!

Day 3: Explore Santa Cruz

After breakfast, get ready for a full day exploring the incredible natural beauty of Santa Cruz Island, both above and below the water!

We’ll begin with a visit to Las Grietas, a stunning series of crystal-clear swimming holes surrounded by dramatic volcanic rock. Grab your snorkel and jump in to explore the pristine waters and keep an eye out for sea turtles, colorful marine life, and maybe even a whitetip reef shark.

From here, we’ll take to the water and sail across Franklin Bay, enjoying the sea breeze and watching for playful sea lions and dolphins along the way.

Our boat will then take us to Playa de Los Perros, a secluded spot accessible by sea and known for its unique wildlife, including colorful Sally Lightfoot crabs and marine iguanas.

After our morning adventure, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to one of Santa Cruz’s most beautiful beaches.

This afternoon, we’ll walk approximately 45 minutes to reach Tortuga Bay, famous for its white sand, turquoise water, and abundant wildlife. Spend the afternoon relaxing, exploring the beach, swimming, or rent a kayak for a little more adventure.

Afterward, we’ll return to our hotel, and the evening is yours to relax and explore on your own.

Day 4: Welcome to Isabel Island

We’re off to Isabela Island, the largest island in the Galápagos!

It’s an early start this morning as we board our 7:00 AM speedboat for the approximately 2.5-hour journey from Santa Cruz to Isabela. Upon arrival, our local representative will meet us at the dock and transfer us to our hotel.

Then it’s time for one of the highlights of our Galápagos adventure: Cabo Rosa and the famous Lava Tunnels!

We’ll head out by boat to explore this extraordinary volcanic landscape, where ancient lava flows have created a maze of arches, tunnels, and crystal-clear pools. We’ll jump in for an incredible snorkeling experience with the chance to encounter sea turtles, rays, colorful fish, reef sharks, sea lions, and other Galápagos marine life.

After our adventure, we’ll return to Isabela to enjoy the evening at our leisure.

Day 5: Hike Sierra Negra + Concha Perla

Today we trade the ocean for the volcanic landscapes of Isabela Island!

After breakfast, we’ll set out to explore Sierra Negra Volcano, home to one of the largest volcanic craters in the Galápagos. Our approximately 10-mile (16 km) hike takes us through dramatic volcanic terrain with incredible views along the way. It’s an active morning and a completely different perspective of the Galápagos!

We’ll enjoy a boxed lunch during our adventure before returning to town.

Later, we’ll head to Concha Perla, a beautiful natural swimming and snorkeling area near the dock. Here, we’ll have another chance to get in the water and look for some of Isabela’s incredible marine life, which may include Galápagos penguins, playful sea lions, sea turtles, rays, colorful fish, and even seahorses.

After a full day of hiking and exploring, the evening is yours to relax and enjoy Isabela Island.

Day 6: Charles Darwin Research Station + San Cristobal

TRANSFER TO PTO AYORA – CHARLES DARWIN RESEARCH STATION – SAN CRISTOBAL

Today, you will have another early morning: your speedboat leaving at 6:00 direction Puerto Ayora. Once you get here, our guide will take you to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, where you will learn more about the researches and conservation efforts that the station is working on. At 15:00, you will take a boat to San Cristobal, this ride taking more or less 2.5 hours. In San Cristobal,you will have the opportunity to relax.

Day 7: Kicker Rock Adventure

Today is all about exploring the incredible waters surrounding San Cristóbal Island!

We’ll depart by boat for a scenic journey to Cerro Brujo Beach, where we’ll head ashore with our naturalist guide for a walk along the beautiful coastline and some time to relax and enjoy the beach.

From here, we’ll continue to one of the Galápagos’ most iconic landmarks, León Dormido, better known as Kicker Rock. Rising dramatically from the ocean, this impressive volcanic formation is also home to some of the most exciting snorkeling in the islands.

We’ll have two opportunities to snorkel around Kicker Rock, exploring its crystal-clear waters and incredible marine ecosystem. Keep your eyes open for sea turtles, rays, tropical fish, whitetip reef sharks, sea lions, and potentially even hammerhead sharks and manta rays!

This is sure to be one of those unforgettable, bucket-list days in the Galápagos.

After our adventure, we’ll return to San Cristóbal with the evening free to relax and enjoy the island.

Day 8: Tijeretas + Swimming with Sea Lions

After several adventure-filled days, today starts with a more relaxed morning on San Cristóbal Island.

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Galápagos Interpretation Center, where our guide will introduce us to the fascinating history, geology, conservation efforts, and endemic wildlife of the islands.

From here, we’ll continue to beautiful Tijeretas, one of the best places on San Cristóbal to get into the water with some of the Galápagos’ most playful residents!

Grab your snorkel and jump into the crystal-clear water for the chance to swim and snorkel alongside curious sea lionsin their natural environment. Keep an eye out for sea turtles, colorful fish, rays, and other marine life along the way.

The remainder of the day is yours to slow down, wander around town, relax by the water, and enjoy our final full day in the Galápagos.

Day 9: Farewell Galapagos

After one final breakfast in paradise, it’s time to say goodbye to the incredible Galápagos Islands.

We’ll transfer to San Cristóbal Airport for our flight back to Quito, Ecuador, where you can connect with your international departure home.

After eight unforgettable days filled with giant tortoises, sea lions, volcanic landscapes, snorkeling, hiking, and incredible wildlife encounters, we’ll head home with new friendships, amazing photos, and memories to last a lifetime.

Yes, you can absolutely experience the Galápagos in luxury, but that isn’t the point of this trip.

The Galápagos is about raw beauty, extraordinary wildlife, nature, and an archipelago that feels preserved in time. We want this adventure to be attainable for travelers while putting the focus where it belongs: on the experience.

Throughout the trip, we have selected comfortable 3-star and mid-range accommodations that are clean, welcoming, comfortable, and authentic to the islands. Rather than spending our nights aboard a cruise ship with limited time ashore, we’ll stay on the islands themselves, giving us the opportunity to experience the local communities, walk into town, enjoy the evenings, and really feel connected to each destination.

Your host for this adventure is Summer Romeo, owner of Out Making Memories. While not every trip is hosted personally by Summer, this is one she would not miss. Getting to Galápagos Islands, Ecuador

GETTING TO THE GALÁPAGOS ✈️🌎

Your Galápagos adventure begins in Quito, Ecuador (UIO). All travelers should plan to arrive in Quito by late afternoon on Arrival Day, where we’ll spend one night together before flying to the Galápagos the following morning.

For travelers flying American Airlines, the primary nonstop gateway to Quito is:

Miami (MIA) → Quito (UIO)
✈️ Nonstop on American Airlines
⏱️ Approximately 4.5 hours
🛫 American currently operates the route daily, with 1–2 flights on many days.

For travelers coming from elsewhere in the United States, you can connect through Miami:

New York (JFK/LGA) → Miami → Quito
Boston (BOS) → Miami → Quito
Philadelphia (PHL) → Miami → Quito
Washington, D.C. → Miami → Quito
Chicago (ORD) → Miami → Quito
Charlotte (CLT) → Miami → Quito

American sells service to Quito from numerous U.S. cities, but these involve connections rather than nonstop service to Ecuador.

Important: Please do not book a flight that arrives late at night. We recommend arriving in Quito by late afternoon so you have plenty of time to check in, join our group welcome dinner, and prepare for our flight to the Galápagos the following morning.

Your Quito → Galápagos flight will be coordinated with the group, so everyone travels to the islands together.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change, and while we would love to offer free cancellation, due to the limited availability of spaces and the special group rates secured for this event, we are only able to offer a refund if we can fill your spot or if you can find a replacement to take your spot.

If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. We will make every effort to fill your space from our waitlist. Should we successfully find a replacement for your booking, a full refund will be issued. However, if we are unable to fill your spot, no refund will be provided.
