Upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel in Reykjavík.

In the afternoon, we’ll head out on a guided Reykjavík Food Tour, the perfect introduction to Icelandic culture through its cuisine. Over approximately four hours, we will explore downtown Reykjavík with a knowledgeable local guide, visiting three unique restaurants and the famous Icelandic hot dog stand.

Along the way, you’ll sample delicious traditional dishes including free roaming Icelandic lamb, fresh local fish, and other beloved Icelandic specialties while learning about the stories and traditions behind the country’s food culture.

Overnight: Reykjavík

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading off the beaten path to Hvalfjörður (Whale Fjord), one of Iceland’s hidden gems in West Iceland. This stunning fjord is surrounded by towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and peaceful landscapes that feel worlds away from the busy tourist routes.

As we take the scenic drive along the fjord, you’ll experience breathtaking views, including the dramatic landscapes that make this region so special. Hvalfjörður also holds fascinating history, having served as an important Allied naval base during World War II.

We’ll stop for a farm visit and lunch at Bjarteyjarsandur, where you’ll enjoy a locally prepared meal while learning about Icelandic farm life.

In the afternoon, we unwind at Hvammsvík Hot Springs, one of Iceland’s most beautiful and authentic geothermal spas. Nestled along the edge of the ocean, Hvammsvík features eight natural hot springs surrounded by mountains and black sand beaches. Your premium admission includes access to the springs, a towel, ocean wading shoes, and one drink.

This evening, we head out in search of one of Iceland’s most magical natural phenomena, the Northern Lights. Thanks to Iceland’s location and minimal light pollution, it is one of the best places in the world to witness the Aurora Borealis. If conditions are not favorable, we will attempt again on another night.

Overnight: Reykjavík

After breakfast, we set out to explore Iceland’s famous Golden Circle, a route that highlights some of the country’s most spectacular natural and historic sites.

Our first stop is the Geysir geothermal area, where you will witness the powerful Strokkur geyser erupt every 7 to 10 minutes, shooting boiling water high into the air. Nearby, we visit the breathtaking Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic cascades, where you can take in the view from above or walk closer to feel the raw power of the falls.

Next, we visit Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. This remarkable landscape is also where Iceland established the world’s first democratic parliament in 930 AD.

We will also experience a traditional geothermal bakery, where rye bread is buried in the warm earth and slowly baked for 24 hours using natural geothermal heat. After learning about the process, we will enjoy tasting the freshly baked bread.

For lunch, we stop at the famous Friðheimar Greenhouse, where tomatoes are grown year round using geothermal energy. Enjoy a unique meal surrounded by lush tomato vines inside the warm greenhouse.

Overnight: Reykjavík

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and begin the journey along Iceland’s spectacular South Coast. Be sure to pack a small bag with your swimsuit, towel, and water bottle for today’s adventure.

Our first stop is the beautiful Reykjadalur Valley, where we will enjoy a scenic 5.5 mile hike through steaming geothermal landscapes. The trail leads to a naturally heated geothermal river, where you can relax and soak in warm waters surrounded by mountains and rolling green hills.

Next, we visit Skyrland Dairy, located in the historic Old Dairy building. Here you will learn about the story of Iceland’s famous skyr, a traditional dairy product whose recipe has been passed down through 40 generations of Icelandic women.

Continuing along the South Coast, we stop at the magnificent Skógafoss Waterfall, where water plunges nearly 60 meters into a misty gorge. Those feeling adventurous can climb the 527 steps to the top for incredible views of the surrounding landscape.

We will also visit the nearby Kvernufoss Waterfall, a hidden gem that offers a quieter and more intimate experience.

By evening we arrive in the charming village of Vík, where we will stay for the next three nights.

Overnight: Vík Area

After breakfast, we head into the breathtaking landscapes of Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe’s largest glacier. Today’s adventure takes place near Skaftafell, a region known for its dramatic scenery of glaciers, mountains, and black sand plains.

Our first stop is the iconic Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where massive icebergs break away from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and drift slowly through the lagoon. Just across the road, we’ll also visit Diamond Beach, where glistening chunks of ice wash ashore on the black sand, creating one of Iceland’s most striking natural scenes.

Next comes an unforgettable experience: kayaking among the floating icebergs in the glacier lagoon. With a fully guided tour and professional equipment including dry suits, you will paddle through the calm waters while taking in incredible views of the surrounding ice cap. Keep an eye out for seals and seabirds that often appear around the lagoon. The stable sit-on-top kayaks make this experience accessible even for beginners.

We will also visit Ingólfshöfði, home to one of Iceland’s most famous puffin colonies. This unique excursion begins with a tractor drawn hay cart ride across the black sand plains to a remote nature reserve where thousands of seabirds nest along the cliffs. The tour is operated by the local family run company Öræfaferðir, offering authentic experiences in the region for decades.

Overnight: South Iceland

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and continue exploring Iceland’s dramatic South Coast.

Our first stop is Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world. Here, powerful Atlantic waves crash against striking basalt column cliffs, with the sea stacks of Reynisdrangar rising from the ocean and the cliffs of Dyrhólaey visible in the distance.

We then visit the breathtaking Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, where water plunges nearly 60 meters over a cliff. One of the most unique features of this waterfall is the path that allows visitors to walk behind the cascading water for a completely different perspective.

Weather permitting, we will also catch views of Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano and glacier that famously erupted in 2010 and disrupted air travel across Europe.

The highlight of the day is a guided glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of the massive Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. Equipped with crampons and safety gear, we will explore the icy landscape with an expert guide, learning about the formation of glaciers while walking across ancient blue ice, crevasses, and frozen formations shaped over thousands of years.

After the adventure, we return to Reykjavík for our final night.

Overnight: Reykjavík

After breakfast, we explore the dramatic landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula, a UNESCO Global Geopark where Iceland’s volcanic forces are on full display.

Our first stop is Seltún, a colorful geothermal area filled with bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and mineral rich ground painted in shades of yellow, white, and red. We then pass Lake Kleifarvatn, a peaceful volcanic lake set within a tectonic rift where the North American and Eurasian plates slowly drift apart.

We continue to several unique geological sites including the Bridge Between Continents, where a small footbridge spans the fissure between two tectonic plates, Brimketill, a natural lava rock pool carved by powerful Atlantic waves, and Gunnuhver, a dramatic geothermal field of steaming vents and boiling mud pools tied to Icelandic folklore.

Along the coast we’ll also see Reykjanesviti Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in Iceland, surrounded by rugged cliffs and sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.

To finish the day, we relax at the world famous Blue Lagoon, named one of the 25 Wonders of the World by National Geographic. The lagoon’s geothermal seawater is rich in silica, algae, and minerals, known for its soothing and skin nourishing properties.

Overnight: Reykjavík

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your private transfer to Keflavík International Airport for your departure flight.
